On Friday, Hilaria Baldwin returned to social media with a photo of her entire family. Alex Baldwin and all of their five children all together.
Just this time, there was a difference.
The comments were turned off.
After her last post, on the 27th of January, when she addressed the controversy that was spread around her background, when people accused her of posing as a Spanish woman when in fact she is a ‘white woman from Boston named Hilary’.
Baldwin has previously explained that she and her family have spent a lot of time in Spain and that she has grown up speaking Spanish.
And in fact, most of her family members still live there and she has raised her children to speak Spanish as well.
Hilaria apologized in her new post about the confusion she might have caused with her identity.
“I’ve spent the last month listening, reflecting, and asking myself how I can learn and grow. My parents raised my brother and me with two cultures, American and Spanish, and I feel a true sense of belonging to both. The way I’ve spoken about myself and my deep connection to two cultures could have been better explained — I should have been more clear and I’m sorry.” – she wrote.
She also wrote that she hopes to “get back to the supportive and kind environment we’ve built together.”
During an interview with the New York Times, Baldwin explained her situation after her backlash, and as for Alec Baldwin, he has reposted the photo of his wife but did not add anything to it.
